Work by
Carol Wheeler

My pottery collection features four main ranges, which all reflect my love of pattern and texture:

Coiled pots with textures inspired by peeling paintwork, created by incorporating making marks, adding coloured slips, and mosaics on some larger pots.

Raku bowls and plates with contrasting metallic lustre and crackled effect geometrical designs resembling stained glass windows.

Impressed and hand-printed plates, platters and dishes created using printmaking techniques including linoprinting, screenprinting and monoprinting.

Patchwork platters and shallow dishes worked from clay marbled with different oxides and stains, together with plain coloured clays, to form geometrical patterns reminiscent of patchwork quilts.
