Work by Usha Khosla
The vessel forms are hand-built and fired in an electric kiln to 1260 degrees C. A slightly rough clay body is used to emphasise the textures, which are further enhanced by slips, oxides and glazes. I usually work in a series of 5 or 6 pots, trying to depict a different mood in each one of them. Many pieces are fired several times with more slips and glaze applied to get the required textural effect.
